Byzantine Patmos

This is a live recording of an actual Vespers service in the chapel of the Greek
Orthodox Monastery of St. John the Evangelist on the island of Patmos, with
Bishop Isidoros (Theophilestatos) in attendance.

This recording was made on the evening of May 30, 1995, at Vespers for the
Apodosis (Leave-taking) of Pascha (Easter). This is the 39th day after Pascha,
in which all the services are done in the same manner that they were performed
on Pascha and following week. Hence this service has a strong Resurrectional
character.

The liner notes for this CD are almost unreadable because they are a very bad
translation from Greek into English. The CD itself is one single track; I have
taken the liberty of breaking it up into six tracks.
